You are sure as which race, you are competing with whom from overseas to Silicon Valley for example, if you tour around, there are a lot of Asian population there. I live there few months, to that, I am very very very surprised. Restaurant and business openings there. They are near Standford too. Not very far.
No, the librarian school didn't require that Joomla to learn. And when you come out, they will tell me, not many people are using it neither. But they will all know, you are learning Joomla, that is all.
